- Measure B Reduces City Revenue – the City’s independent analysis concludes that the initiative could cost Thousand Oaks $12 million in impact and development fees, and another $2.9 million each year in lost tax revenue. Even worse, our school and fire district could lose as much as $3.1 million annually.
- Measure B Hurts our Hospital -- Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center is planning a new building to meet state earthquake standards. If this initiative passes, it will make it more difficult for the hospital to fully comply with state standards and provide quality healthcare to our community.
- Measure B Blocks Recreation Plans – city officials warn that the new family fun center proposed for Newbury Park could be blocked if the Do it Center initiative passes.
- Measure B Thwarts Competition & Low Prices – let’s face it, Do it Center is funding this political campaign because it doesn’t want consumers in Thousand Oaks to have easy access to competitive prices offered by a potential competitor.
- Measure B Blocks Traffic Improvements –The Do it Center Initiative may result in the loss of millions of dollars in city revenue that could be used for traffic improvements and could block traffic improvements planned for Thousand Oaks.
- Measure B will Cost Taxpayers & Voters –When a retailer or other companies want to expand or locate in Thousand Oaks, the Do it Center initiative could result in a costly election to be held.
